Each and everyday, I am asked by my clients and social media followers for recipes, exercise routines, books and blogs to read. Resources! This post is completely dedicated to ‘what’s in’ in my world 🙂
Let’s start with recipes. Most people who see me are in need of food that is nutrient dense, digestion friendly, and easy to make.
Quirky cooking was one of the first blogs I began to follow. I have a thermomix, so needed someone to follow who cooked the way I did. I have dairy and wheat intolerance so I needed someone to point me towards the substitutions available without feeling like I was missing out. All of her recipes are allergy friendly (or have different options), and most recently, Jo has been on GAPS protocol (for gut healing). I have all of her cook books and frequently find new recipes to try for our growing little family!
If you’re vegan, or at least looking for more plant based meals, Oh She glows is awesome! Lots of nutrient dense, budget friendly options to be had!

The Big Leap – Gay Hendricks (helps with big mindset shifts to help you reach new levels)
Lose Fat here – Dr Jade Teta (helps you tap into your ultimate body. Includes diet and exercise recommendations)
The Universe Has Your Back – Gabrielle Bernstein (Spiritual junkies will love this. Includes guided meditations, mindset shifts and overall trust improvement)
Rising Strong – Brene Brown (The ultimate book about falling down and getting right back up again. Resilience, but also learning to communicate with people in more effective ways)
Life Changing Food – Jo Whitton (whole food cook book)
The Omnivore’s Dilemma – Michael Pollan (background info about the commercial food industry)
If you’re looking for something new when it comes to exercise, I’ve used the following routines regularly 🙂
Kayla Itsines – Sweat with Kayla app (find on itunes or Android store) – I used this as a way to ‘lose the baby weight’ after having my second child. I think I had gained about 15kg during the pregnancy, and found Kayla’s workouts, when coupled with a paleo diet helped me shed that excess weight within about 12 weeks.
Jade Teta – Metabolic workouts (search on YouTube) – Jade’s workouts are based on a program called Metabolic Burn. They are a circuit style workout and you complete as many exercises as you can in 20 minutes, followed by walking for around 20 minutes. My body shape transformed using this style of workout! He has perfected the art of helping to regulate hormones as well as energy. I love this program!
Five Parks Yoga – Vinyasa flow classes ( Search on YouTube) – My slow days (every second day is a rest day) I do a 30-60 minute yoga routine. It gets me stretched, breathing and feeling awesome! I like the style that Erin has – Vinyasa flow classes would be considered intermediate versions of yoga, so perhaps look for a beginners class if you find Five Parks Yoga too challenging.
Most importantly, if you have read this far, you are AWESOME! I really want to help women go from psycho to fun 😉 So to do this, you’ll need to download an app called OMVANA. I’ve found it one of the most valuable tools I use EVERY SINGLE DAY. As soon as I wake, I put a guided meditation on for about 5-10 mins and since beginning this ritual, I am so much more calm, focused and coping with life that bit easier every day. Anyone who has ever tried the herb St John’s Wort know the feeling of calm that comes over you when the herb kicks in. Well meditation brings this feeling without having to take ANYTHING! Just sit and breathe. So profound!
